Sailing Near Two Mile

Nothing more peaceful than watching the sailboats out on Lake Lanier. This scene is from out on Two Mile Park looking Northeast. I've sailed on small sunfish as a kid, but never got around to learning how to be a real sailor. Not enough time and too cheap to take the lessons I guess.

P51 Mustang over Lake Lanier

My daughter Dana asked me to paint something for my grandson's bedroom.
I remembered seeing an fighter airplane swooping low over the water and it bought out that little boy excitement in me. I tried to make the guy in the cockpit look like me, since that would be the only way I would ever be able to fly one of these.

Cara at the Beach

I had a great vacation in Panama City Beach during the summer of 2009 and painted this from a photo of my grandaughter Cara. I was looking for a subject that would work on a small painting and this one made me smile everytime I looked at it.

William J

Had a one inch black & white photo of my Dad that I kept in my wallet that was getting all krinkled up over the years. Funny, but I have very few other photos. Not sure where or when it was taken, but I remember him talking about that convertible he had. The origingal background looked like a spooky old slum apartment, so I change it . . . Yeah, this scenery fits him better and gives him something to smile about.

Kelsey at Two Mile

Best dog ever and I really miss this old girl. Past away in February 2010 and I buried her in my back yard near the lake. No matter what the weather, I walked her every day through nearby Two Mile Park on Lake Lanier. She had a slow, steady pace and paid no mind to passing deer or rabbits. Life hasn't been the same without her.  I painted this fairly quickly and finished it only a few weeks after she was gone, but still can't seem to hang it up.
